I originally wanted to have an "all out" for this competition, but this picture ended up having no focus point in the end. I'm not sure whether to hate or like it ;; Right now i sort of hate soft shading [>.>;]

This should be called "The young procrastinator" @w@ This is pretty much sums up what i have been doing lately in "the busiest education two years of my life"

I haven't had time, but i realllllllllllllly want to say THANKYOU for the 2nd dd a while ago. I really cant believe that it happened //<3

And yes, pretend im still on my disappearing act right now[>.>;]

Well to start off I’m really glad I finally have a chance to critique this piece.

This piece is really beautiful. It drew me in when I first seen the thumb. I just your technique and style with it.

I really relate about how she is off by herself away from school drawing, something I did many a time.

I’m not sure if this is how you meant it, but I feel like she is just sitting in an open space, on the grass with nothing there, and is drawing the place that she feels the most comfortable, safe, and at home. The place that is her hearts home.

The only thing I don’t like that much is the eyes. It looks like she is looking into a body of water, and that it is reflecting into her eyes. But there isn’t a body of water, and the water bottle is next to her not in front of her to be in her eyes. Other than that I just love this piece. I hope to see more amazing pieces from you.

There are a lot of things I like about this piece. First of all, it's just darn pretty. The colors are very well rendered, including the shadows and highlights. I especially like the shadow that the hand casts on the rest of the picture. The concept is also very interesting. It reminds me of one of the infinite reflection illusions created by placing two mirrors face to face. My favorite part of the piece is the attention to detail, especially in the art materials, but more so in the fingernails of the hand. The picture keeps it's simplicity, and is by no means cluttered, but is still very pleasing to the eye. However, the planter seems out of proportion to me, as if it is on a different plane than the rest of the work. It may have come across better if it were made more slender. Also, the effect at the top of the page cannot be achieved easily with a pencil, so that seems out of place.

All in all, this is a beautiful piece.
